Tasmanian Under 18 Teams Depart
Our Tasmanian Under 18 teams depart today for the Australian Junior Championships in Canberra starting on Thursday. The event will cover 7 days and will culminate on Thursday 17 April.
Our girls are a young group this year with five bottom aged players and have been working hard under Head Coach John Fox. The girls start their week with a winnable game against WA Country at 3pm on Thursday at the AIS Training Hall. After this it gets tougher with games against SA Metro, Vic Country, NSW Country and Queensland South in Pool 2.
Our boys also start with an important game against Queensland North which will have a huge bearing on where we finish on the final tables. This game will be played Thursday at 9am at the AIS Training Hall. Further pool games will be against Vic Metro, NSW Country, Northern Territory and SA Country. Head Coach Randy Livingston will looking to win 3 or more of these to set themselves up for a Top 8 finish.

SEABL Update
Our Tassie teams have started well in the new season with successful road trips and then home games. Here is an update on the progress:
· Hobart Chargers Men (2-2) – well placed to push higher if they can overcome Sandringham this Friday night.
· Hobart Chargers Women (1-3) – tough start to the year with major injuries but a strong win over the Torns have them heading in the right direction. Expect them to be a strong performer this year.
· Launceston Tornadoes Women (1-3) – great early signs after winning only one game last year. Have already proved that they will be right there against the best teams throughout the year.
· NW Thunder Men (4-0) – fantastic start to the season that was largely unexpected. A win over Sandringham would keep the unbeaten streak going nicely for Coach Thomas.
The Sandringham Sabres are in town this weekend. Please visit the respective team websites for ticketing details.
