The Basketball Tasmania Future Development Program (FDP) is a new initiative to ensure our athletes are developing from a younger age than the State Development Program (SDP).
The FDP will also be 'selective' but it will work with increased numbers to develop boys and girls in each region of our state between the ages of 10 and 14 (your age at 31 December 2014).
The FDP will operate in the three separate regions with the program starting in February 2014. The initial program will operate until June 30 to bring it into line with our other development programs and will then proceed for the next 12 months.
The aim of the FDP is to identify and select basketball athletes with future potential and develop their individual skills, mental skills and team concepts which will aid them to develop successfully in future levels.
Future Development athletes will receive 1 x 1.5 hour squad session each week in school terms in the regions (boys and girls separate) and 3 x 1 day camps in Launceston over the 12 months.
Cost:
The cost for the initial program (start of February to the end of July) is $200 and includes the weekly training sessions and one camp in Launceston.

We will hold tryouts in each region on Sunday 15 December.
